Alternative Baseball Cincinnati Updates – May 2022
Practices
The Tri-State Continentals of the Alternative Baseball Organization have had two successful practices thus far. Players have worked on fielding, hitting, throwing, and running the bases. Unless otherwise noted we practice each Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00, at the Gregory J. Missman VFW Post 9630 in Batavia. *There is no practice on Mother’s Day, which is May 8.
Our roster size remains at ten players. We’ve added some new players, but we’ve lost some players as well due to other commitments. We do not have a specific roster maximum, so any interested player is welcome to sign up. We welcome teens and adults with a developmental, intellectual, or physical disability, aged 15 and older. The player signup link is https://alternativebaseball.org/player-pool. No past baseball experience is necessary.
While it’s free to register as a player, we will be asking players and/or their caregivers for a $30 fee to help pay for the mandatory general liability insurance we’re required to have for our ABO team.
We also need more signups from those willing to join as a coach or volunteer. To get involved, visit https://alternativebaseballcincy.org. A background check will be done prior to any volunteers or coaches joining our team. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.
If you own a local business and are interested in more exposure and foot traffic to your business, consider being a sponsor for the Continentals. For $200 for one year your business will be promoted on our social media outlets weekly, OR on our local website. For $250 for one year, your business will be promoted on both the website and social media
